Nice game, but without music.

I wish there was a checkpoint system or something cause the first level was quite borring to replay.

Another thing I want to comment is the use of the scanline shader or overlay.

Scanlines must separate the pixels in the native resolution of the game, seems like you choosed a higher resolution for your game than what those scanlines supposed to be used.

This gives a strange outcome at least to me as I am used at scanlines.

Would have loved to add a bit of music but I just didn't have enough space for it. 100% agree with you on the checkpoint and very nice catch on the scanlines! Thank you for playing!

May I ask what engine/framework you used? The old style graphic screen really surprised me. I wonder what this game would be if it were to be larger... Keep up the good work!

For this and most of my games I've used Clickteam Fusion 2.5. It's not half bad with smaller game jams (and has some good compression options) but is almost impossible to scale up into a larger game and is all around extremely hacky. I hear construct 2 is pretty similar with a better frame work but I'm not going to dish out for another yearly subscription. Going to hopefully remake this is Godot to have a web build later on!

Watching the spiders fall into the pits in room 2 was fun. The low-fi fx works but I had to turn my volume way down since the effects were really loud for me. The on-death notes are great.

Nothing quite like laughing at the failure of your enemies. I would like to have added controllable volume but its a quirk of my engine,. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
