Due to previously unforeseen events, I was unable to do any development for 7 out of the 9 days allotted. I have very very little made as of right now, yet I could theoretically get something slightly playable released by the due date.

should I keep going with the jam, or should I dump the jam entirely and work at a comfortable pace?

The point of game jams is to force you to plan, make a realistic scope for your game and deliver. Having a game with 1 level in the time frame of the game jam is worth more than having 12, 2 months later imao.

BTW I'm in a very similar predicament as you :)
