  • A body horror traditional roguelike is still something that may not have ever gotten done before...until now. In its current state, though, this is only represented by the unusual progression where every item has three uses: as a weapon/piece of armor, as a healing consumable, or as a stat upgrade. Unfortunately, any upgrades are reset as you descend the floor right now; although they do not matter much anyway. (Even possessing seemingly strongest shield and killing the one monster type in one hit still does not stop it from dealing its 1 point of damage before it goes down). The more fundamental issue is that this currently triviliazes staying alive in a way that rather contradict the horror theme; perhaps adding positive and negative effects to consuming certain items would help, as well as adding a lot more enemy types with more abilities. Additionally, it's good that the floors change visually every time, but the current artstyle is not well-suited for a horror game: the most it can evoke is a sense of mild creepiness. This is clearly exacerbated by the lack of sound, but I suspect art changes would help a lot even with the appropriate SFX.

Wonderful game! Love the choice between using vs consuming/absorbing items. Great way to keep up the tension as I'm constantly recycling the equipment I need!
