I really liked that minimalistic minecraft/terraria freedom vibes in sound and graphical design. However, the game does not seem to work properly, so I hope, you will be receptive to some critique.

I could not really interact with anything nor in browser version, neither in downloadable one. Aside from collecting materials to complete the main task, it would be especially helpful to be able to see again what merchant has to say, since it is such a massive wall of text. As I said, you have some really nice atmosphere, however to my understanding, your game is more of a quest, than a sandbox. Also difference in resolution of character sprites, environment tiles and text is a bit jarring.

Anyway, you definitely have potential, hope to see your next game!

Dont worry  I am always appreciative of criticicsm. I have recieved quite a bit of feedback about the game not working, honestly I still dont know why becuase on the 3 or 4 computers I have tested the game on they all seemed to work. Something I have to look into more

Also just claryfying are you saying you like the fact it is more of a quest or would you prefer more of a sandbox game?

Thanks

It looks promising and I like the sound design, except for the fact that, once you stop walking, the walking sound effect gets cut off, which sounds pretty jarring.  The biggest problem I have with the game is that... uhm... it doesn't seem to actually work? I tried to follow the instructions you had give in the comments of the game page, but I didn't get anything by clicking on the dirt. The only thing I managed to get was a branch from the tree. (I also found a glitch where pausing the game while the dialogue is going on lets you take control of your character early.)

Thats really good feedback. Im sorry to hear that the game was buggy for you. It is really strange, I have recieved some feedback saying it works and others say it doesnt work. Not going to lie I was aware of the dialog bug but didnt have any time to fix it. Think maybe I tried to do much in too little time which led to a buggy game. Defiently going to keep working on it and get it to a better state. Thanks for the feedback though, greatly appreciated!

I know the feel. My game is much the same.

Just gave your game a play too. What greart art, love the vintage green backlight feel. Very well put together. Also appreciate how you still managed to include a story.

The dirt usually seems to work though. It can be a bit finiky you have to click on the top of the dirt, only were the little mounds are

Yes, I clicked just about anywhere. I really couldn't pick it up.

Developer

I would really appreciate it if people could let me know if they finished the level by escaping or if they got stuck and found it tricky? Thanks guys

Nice!. did you use Yarn Spinner for the dialogue or u made a custom one ?

Developer(+1)

No I actually made a custom dialog system. It’s not perfect but I’m pretty happy with it. Thank you heaps for the feedback and for playing

Pretty neat game! The graphics are really cute and the whole atmosphere of the entry looks polished and well put together. Well done! :)

Thank you very much, that means a lot coming from your self with the game you produced. I’ve already played it and what a visually stunning game. Thanks for playing and rating

Oh wow haha, thanks so much! I look forward to whatever you can create, and your product has actually been encouraging me a lot to make some sort of survival game! :D

Developer

Thats great to hear. I just have one quesition. Did you end up comlpleting the level or did you find it too confusing and challenging? Asking becuase i have recieved some feedback that it was too cofusing. Thanks

Unfortunately, I was only able to get a stick from a tree and that's it. I tried picking up the dirt and sand but it wasn't working for some reason, maybe it was a bug? Not sure

I've never seen a puzzle like this one. Please rate my game if you want.

Developer

Did you end up finishing the level? And I will defiently rate your game, thank you for taking the time to play mine

I meant unique in a positive way.

Developer

Thank you. I rated your game too. I loved the randomly generated rooms, that was quite cool. I am very interested in the feedback though. Did you end up finishing the level by making the ladder or did you find it too challenging to figure out. I am asking because a couple of others have told me they found it very challenging to work out what to do. Maybe in the future I will add a tutorial
