What do you like about your game?
I am quite happy with the art style that I came up with for this game.

Gameplay is really smooth although somewhat limited, admittedly I got ambushed a few times. I liked the feel of the guns as well, very classic.

The environment though is super awesome. The sky design and the colour palette you used throughout is so pleasing. The enemies are simple but the particles coming off them are cool. The sound design throughout is very responsive.

congrats on the release.

Neat game, machine gun felt great! "respawn = off" on the final loading screen was suitably ominous.  Solid!

Felt like playing DOOM again, so i enjoyed it

you absolutely nailed the atmosphere of the game. the gameplay is simple but well executed. also im a fan of the background/sky, its both so cheap and so perfect in giving that psychological horor game vibe

my only complaint would be that because its a maze, its a bit painfull to navigate from a point A to a point B (for example from where you are to where you know there's a bomb/anomaly) which does generate a bit of frustration

neat game overall :)

Developer

Thanks for the review, I do agree that navigation in particular could use some refining lol

Pretty cool game lol

The colour pallete was nice. The levels in general were also pretty pleasant to look at, even if they mostly looked the same. Unfortunately,  as a result I got lost a LOT. The game desperately needed a map which gets revealed the more you explore.

Also, were the levels procedurally generated ?  I felt like the levels were a little too similar because of the above reason, but I also felt like some sections were a little different lol.

The machine gun was fun to shoot, as was your starting weapon. However, the shotgun really needed a little more oomph to it. It felt kinda limp in comparison.

The enemies really needed a shadow or something, because it got annoying when they just came out of a random corner and blindsided you

I also wish that the points you get through the crystals were used for more than just gatekeeping the guns.  Since it seemed kinda useless to collect them in general

But despite all of these issues, I couldn't stop playing until I reached the end lol. Idk what it is, but the game still has a good amount of charm to it. You have the base for something cool here. If you can tie all of these mechanics together somehow ( collecting crystals, finding the anomalies and bombs ) you could make something really good. But as it stands, it's a cool little jam game

Thanks for the review! I agree that a lot could be improved upon but I procrastinated a little too long lol. The game only has one map but the spawn point, anomaly, etc are all randomly placed around the map.

ran out of ammo too fast, scanned the anomaly, picked up the bomb, got tired of dying without ammo. Quit. The game only closes with Alt+F4, no menu on Esc.

you can reload though....

How would I know? I didn't notice any menu with controls. Esc does nothing.  I thought I needed to find ammo in the level and it would automatically reload. Or that I needed to keep dying until I get enough money for the new gun. Did I miss the reload button being announced somewhere? The game page also doesn't mention it. I guess it's obvious for people playing shooters. I'm not one. I will try to replay.

Developer

Sorry you had a negative experience. Thanks for playing anyways.

I replayed now knowing there's a reload button. It felt much better.
