- Definitely fits the theme and is a cool idea. I think the speed of the food items is too fast, and there is no explanation of what you can do with the cleaver or the lemon spray or how to get rid of the eyes. This stuff needs to be in game as it only takes a minute or so to reach a no win scenario. The game also crashed twice on me :/

Great game, liked the visuals a lot
The character animations, horror accoutrements and their interactions and creative food designs (triforce pizza is especially good) are all really great work. I enjoyed them thoroughly whilst trying to traverse the gameplay. I think the gameplay loop is nice and arcade-y although I am not sure how I feel about it becoming a button mash simulator.
I would have liked better telegraphing on "throwing out" is the thing you do to non-foods. I also assume youre supposed to use lemon spray on the eyes and the meat cleaver on the tentacles, but could never make it work. just FYI, there are a few scaling bugs in windowed mode that cut off the title. Theres also an error that crashes the game when you die.
Congrats on the release
The main menu was all last second running after I got off work before the jam ended, so it’s one of the things I really wished I allocated better time to work with.
There’s a few bugs I found myself. In addition to the occasional error on death, there’s also a bug when you pause the game causing items to keep spawning forever. I’m currently working on a fully finished version of the game with an actual tutorial stage, right now if you go to the “help” page in the main menu it describes the mechanics. Honestly, I’m not a fan of this because it doesn’t encourage players to learn the game as they play.
A few of the planned features include telegraphing when enemies spawn and what to use, right now they just follow cooldowns with variations based on difficulty.
cute game, i like the concept of cooking printed food in space, it does make the game pretty interesting and the execution of it does work well. congrats!
I really like the style of the game, the presentation and title of the game were very captivating.
The gameplay was a bit overwhelming at first but I got used to it after a bit.
I had a friend with me at the time of playing so we turned into a local-coop experience and it was really fun!
Dunno if you intended for it.
In my design documents I had planned on including a co-op scoring system that tracked the mouse actions separately from the arrow keys! So while it’s not in the game, it was definitely an idea that was on the table! :)
absolutely adore the artsyle you can really tell how hard you worked to hand make every model texture
