Description of the game
You are a spaceship making its way through an asteroid belt. Use the up and down arrows to dodge icy asteroids. Your can hear your height by the pitch of the engine knocking, and if you do crash, your height determines the squeal of impact. Of course, this is all in your mind since sound can't travel in space. Hit browser refresh to play again.

I made the art and music and programmed the game with Scratch. I used https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/ and Scratch to make the music and watched Zinnea's tutorial on scrolling backgrounds for help.

This reminds me of those 90s LCD games / calculator games I used to play haha!
It's a bit hard to move fast since it seems it buffers for a bit before you can press again.

Nice job on the game jam

One half-step for man, one giant leap towards adaptive music :>
Sound can't travel through space but neither can I so we're even. Great game, would hit F5 a bunch more times ^^

I love the idea! Pretty hard to control

I agree, half steps are better than none at all! Just gotta take it a half step at a time and eventually make up a whole tone or even an octave!

I found impossible to escape situations due to the heavy rng and discrete step wise movement of my ship and unforgiving hit boxes.

I enjoy your explanation that this is all in my mind!
