Breaking any of these rules will result in a warning. If you have received a warning and continue to ignore it, we will remove you from the community, either temporarily or permanently. We will take whatever action feels most appropriate to keep the members of our community safe. If your behavior is extreme, we hold the right to ban you without a prior warning. We have not had to do this to date, and we hope to keep it that way.
If a member of the community is making you uncomfortable, please reach out to one of the moderators so that we can help.
We hold the right to retroactively modify the rules as we see fit.
1. Be excellent to each other. We strive to make this space welcoming and inclusive, so please be kind in your interactions with others. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards attacks, harassment, and antagonizing comments. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive remarks in response to a user’s gender and pronouns, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, appearance, race, religion, language, etc.
2. Please be mindful when discussing sensitive topics, such as depression, pregnancies, eating disorders, etc. We understand that these conversations may occur, especially if there are Adventure Jam submissions that depict these things, but please be respectful of your fellow community members.
3. Do not put down community members or their work - this includes yourself. Remember that we are all on different skill levels, and that’s okay. Learning should be fun, and it should be celebrated. Please help us maintain this positive, collaborative environment.
4. Do not give unsolicited advice. Please don't give tips or advice when a community member is sharing their work or thoughts, unless they have stated that it's okay to do so.
5. Do not mention, share or promote AI tools. Any messages doing this will be removed. We cannot in good conscience endorse the use of AI tools that were unethically trained on data that was not consensually given. Adventure Jam was created with the intent to bring people together and encourage creativity within the community, and we believe that collaborating with your peers provides a more rewarding and fulfilling experience.
6. Try to keep accessibility in mind. Please do not spam the forums. Messages with ASCII art are not allowed and will be deleted. Messages with excessive emojis (more than 2-3 at a time) may be deleted without prior warning as they are not accessible for members using screen readers.
7. Keep it safe for work. We have members of all ages here. While creating mature games is welcome, please avoid sharing NSFW content within the community.
8. Don’t DM other members without their consent. If you feel like you need to reach out to a member privately, ask for their permission first. If they decline, you must respect that. If they set boundaries on what they’re comfortable talking about, you must also respect that.
