I love cooking games, but maybe the time limit are too much strict, i could only deliver 1 order and some recipes like spaghetti are too long to deal in multiple orders. I think a good pacing for this game would be 1) preparation time: prepare the ingredients without knowing what they are gonna ask, you cannot prepare food since people demand it fresh 2) order time: serve the food freshly coocked 3) cleaning: keeping your kitchen tidy will down the % of dubious food prepared even with the right recipe
I would suggest you the next feature would be the fridge managment, conserve excessive prepared ingredient and trow the rotten, this is one of the most frequent issues i encounter in real kitchens.
I find this game really interesting keep up the good work.
Thanks for playing! I'm for sure going to make the order times more lenient, as well as introduce some in-game difficulty sliders so the player can choose how frantic they want their kitchen to be.
One of the next features will be a menu builder, so you can decide what dishes you wish to serve (and thus only worry about those ingredients). On top of that ingredient/storage management is definitely something that will happen soon thereafter, with there being a "back room" for your general storage and limited space in the kitchen for ingredients you actually wish to use.
Thanks for the pointers and suggestions! Your feedback helps the game grow and be better :)
As someone who likes to cook, the gameplay itself is actually pretty fun. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete a single order after the tutorial, because I kept running out of time. I would either speed up the player's movement and cooking time, or make the customers just a bit more patient. There were also times when I accidentally placed two ingredients into a single dish, and I was unable to separate them (although this may be intentional). Lastly, I'd recommend pausing the game when the player opens the cookbook, so that the player doesn't waste time while reading the recipe.
I really do think this could be a fun game if you fixed it up a bit.
Thanks for giving it a go! I'll definitely add more time to the orders, plus there will be some more in-game difficulty sliders available soon. You can't separate food once they've been in the same dish, that's a health and safety precaution. I thought I had added pausing the game when the cookbook was open but I guess not, that should also be in soon.
