I leveled up a bunch by clearing a lot of monsters and floor then died to a pretty beefy skeleton. The game is insanely fun when you figure out what is going on. At first glance I thought I was building a path up or something for my guy, but then when I deleted a row I realized this is tetris but awesome. It's fun to fight enemies and get healing and level up. I'd love to see different playable characters and different levels/themes. Wishlisted on steam and good luck with the release!
Brilliant game, both in terms of the idea and how you designed around it. I initially wasn't understanding when exactly was I "meant" to play the tetris part and when should I move my character instead, but a run of endless mode really cleared up all the tradeoffs at play there.
My only minor complaint is that I wish that was possible to hover onto or select a grid piece to read information about the enemy/object standing on it, but apart from that, complimenti!
This shit is more fun to play than it has any right to. You struck gold here. Make it a full release. Suggestion: Give the player more incentive to place certain tiles next to each other so you dont just build line after line. Maybe certain spots that react when placed next to each other? Maybe summon a special enemy or something? idk
