Replaying this from the beginning, I will write down my thoughts as I play in the hope that you might find some of them useful.

Holy hell. I finally understand how the ladders work. It was me misinterpreting them all along… I retract all previous statements about the ladders, they are actually easy to use.

The tutorial book which explains them is actually really clear, but I have misinterpreted it every time I have played. I don't know if it needs to change or if I am just stupid.

I think your mud-texture looks a lot like cake. Perhaps you could have cake instead of mud in Bonkas world but with the same effect.

It is kind of funny that the soccer-ball can kill an enemy without actually hitting it, for instance by the enemy walking into it before it despawns.

Character-animations always spazz-out when pushing objects.

There is a very vaguely nostalgic feeling to all of the visuals, I think this is why this always makes me think of vaporwave, misplaced objects and a feeling of nostalgia.

There is a very strong sense of “family” with all of these characters.

I really like the Hirdrih introduction cutscene, I think it shows that your artstyle is improving as well. Bonka is still my favorite. Lots of fun references in Hirdrih. I was almost completely sure that the lightbulb would be some kind of pick-up.

The character-animations does not spazz-out when pushing the batteries.

Quite liked the design of Bohr.

Looking forward to the next update!

The reason why sometimes they do/don't act weird when pushing has to do with the weird way how the push state and its animations are coded.

With the kids following you, differences in movement speed could show some weird stuff related to sprites like in pushing objects or the  swinging.

(At least when they're in the same X axis but the vertical/Y axis is different or something).

Also, yes, I guess you just gave me an idea for how the mud texture could look in Brinkaedea.
