Surely there must be more right? Well, that was neat. Took a while of keymashing until I found the jump chain bug (feature?) The art was really good, and the music, I'll give you that. Bravo. Although there really isn't any content... the only thing that bugged me was this: the walking sound is really obnoxious and also just doesn't make any sense to me. Like, its a snail. Why does walking sound like rubbing sandpaper against metal? If it was constant I'd get it but it comes in quick bursts, like what? Not really important, just turn down the volume and it's fine.

I mean, you made a game. It's not long, it's not a masterpiece, but I appreciate the effort making a game takes, so I think you can be happy with what you did here.

This game could be a lot more interesting if you only game it a clearer loop. Right now, I feel like your game is having an identity crisis. Is it a puzzle game? I never once had to stop to think about how to do the level, it was just teleport, go to key, teleport, go to key and so on. Or is it a dodging game? If not, why are the spikes there to slow you down? If you just chose a direction, the game could go far, but right now, it's stuck in some kind of middle ground where you don't get either of the experiences. The art was great though! Some things I thought about:

1. In the third level, there is no number over the door indicating how many keys you need.

2. The spikes seem to stutter when they go up and down, its not a clean on-off rythm

3. There are a few typos in the quotes, they kinda ruin the whole wise words thing.

4. There is no music. Just a tiny bit can go a long way! Also the bleep of the player moving is really annoying.

This gets a four star from sheer creativity. Like, dude, what the hell. That was incredible. It was a three star in my head, and then the platformer segment came and I was like nope this is awesome. The only thing preventing this from being a 5-star is that it isn't longer and doesn't have more interactive gameplay like the platforming segment. Actually, screw it, this gets 5 stars cause you submitted really early, so that content I was missing is excused.  You should absolutely take this further, keep adding small gameplay snippets, polish the writing, add more customization options, let me pysically bash around the text in the terminal, give the narration more of a personality, keep making me lose the game. I will follow and come back in a few months to hopefully a more complete game. Best of luck!

In this small experience, you play as a snail trapped in a digital chamber. You have a minute in this chamber to do...something. There isn't really much to do in an empty chamber is there? I wonder if there's a way to escape... I forgot to...

The vibes were immaculate, and I as an amateur coder can only admire the combat system. There are only a few things I would suggest:

1. Health bars! The boss fight is so long that it feels kind of annoying to fight for two minutes, have no idea how far you came and then die. This is a must for the QoL and enjoyment of this game.

2. You made an enemy, use it! Have longer levels before the bossfight, make use of the platforming mechanics you implemented.

3. If you spend more time on the game, writing a short story justification for why exactly there are enemies on the path from a child to their father would do a lot to lift the current cloud of confusion around the game's story.

Overall, I hope you develop this further! This can go a long way.

One star may feel dissapointing, so I want to elaborate here that you game has a lot of potential, you just didn't develop it nearly enough to submit it. In particular the art was really good, so you should keep going to bring the whole game up to the level I know is possible. The most pressing issues I thought of:

1. The motion controls are frustratingly slow

2. Despite pickpocketing the guart like 20 times, I didn't get a sword (a number showed up every time so I assume I did everything right). I assume the sword is a pre-requisite for the bossfight, so maybe force the player to fight an enemy before letting it enter the boss room.

3. You restart at the start of the game when you die. This may or may not be an issue if you develop the game further, but with the current parkour content and the slow movement, it definitely is. At least give the player three lives or something like that.

Overall, the game wasn't great. But that's probably just because you submitted it after 20 hours lol. You can make this into something awesome, and I hope you do!

This game was great! The art was really cute and the music was also really nice. (Quick rant about the music: I really like the percussion and the whole astheatic with violin and 8 bit stuff and toms. I only have a few things to say: 1. more mids: you could definitely add some kind of guitar or pad or other chord instrument to thicken it up a bit. 2. More cowbell 3. you could distinguish the a/b section more, maybe switch to a cowbell based groove instead of hihat and also have some kind of chord stabs? just create more of a contrast to switch it up more would be awesome. Wow, im listening to it in the background as im writing this, its super catchy. anyways, music rant over)

The only thing that was lacking was the gameplay. The base idea is great, and you could definitely develop this into a way larger prototype. For a first game, this is incredible, especially since you submitted so early. What I would suggest to take this further:

1. Make the enemy attack you each turn, so there are more stakes to making the right moves.

2. I know this is kind of an enormous suggestion, but this game feels like an enemy encounter in a dungeon crawler, so making a dungeon crawler to have this as the combat system would actually make this game amazing. It doesn't have to be super complicated, just a few rooms with different enemies to test it out would make it feel like you had a reason for fighting the enemies as oppose to now that you're being served them on a platter.

3. this is where my feedback moves from game design to brainstorming. oh well. you could randomly have certain blocks have like a bomb in them or some kind of spell, so that if you used that block to connect 3, it would grant some kind of boost.  Just to switch up the main loop a bit.

4. Maybe instead of the blocks giving certain actions, they give mana/energy for the corresponding character so you can have multiple actions to choose from for each character? the possibilities are endless...

5. okay this is kind of random but after sitting here for like 10 min writing this the music is lagging out like hell I dont know how your game works, but maybe check if you have any integers or floats that are just incremented as time goes on, that might be the issue.

Overall, this was a great experience, and I hope you continue making games. Don't give up, this entry shows you have a lot of potential going forward!
