I was wondering what advice I should follow when working on a game jam entry

Make sure to plan out your game so you don't overscope, things usually take longer than you think they will. 

Don’t overscope, even just a small feature that seems easy can turn out a lot more complex than you initially think. Also, try to make your entry unique, don’t use ideas that you know a lot of people will think about.
