This game is really similar to our original vision with Shanty Quest. We wanted to be able to combine items you received into new abilities. It was ultimately scraped because we thought it lead to too much complexity, and I think this game might suffer from that problem as well. It's unfortunate because I really think this is one of the most fun games I've played so far and it didn't need all that headache. The combat feels great and the boss fight is awesome (if a bit unpredictable with its lasers). Also the main menu listing all the controls is much appreciated. Nice work!
Really cool! Loved the boss. As a bullet hell veteran, I think the difficulty is pretty good. The only regret (and I count that as a positive) is that there isn't more of it.
Pretty impressive! It was fun, though I quickly stopped because of the difficulty (even though I selected the easy mode...). I liked the focus mode !
Fun and challenging! Eventually I destroyed the boss, but the first pahse of the boss level, with two enemies and fully functional boss was very difficult. Then, as SecretPocketCat mentioned, after elimination the laser shooting part of the boss, it became too easy to destroy the rest. So maybe a bit of re-design of the boss could pay off. All in all very well done!
Pretty cool, but there was a huge spike in difficulty going from the first to the second level. It went from very easy to impossible.
Pretty neat, though I couldn't use focus as mode as that would cause a panic.
The enemies shooting triple red projectiles are IMO a bit BS and one of the levels has an enemy directly in the center which damages the player unless they move immediately.
I did not see a boss coming which was a pleasant surprise. It would be nice if they had an angry phase since after getting rid of the laser the boss became super simple.
It seems focus mode won’t panic if player doesn’t shoot until after the first beat. I guess I’ll never stop shooting myself in the foot subtracting Durations.
Good idea about angry phase, I probably will add something like that after the voting ends.
