It does seem to be bugged when passing wave 5.
Definitely check out after the jam if u can update it with a fix as I'm interested where this was going.

the looks are cool and simple, and the core mechanic is fun,

however, i got stuck after purchasing the 5th upgrade, just like the other player that commented. it looks like a scene switch? and the screen goes black
