Challenging game! I included it in my Blackthornprod GAME JAM #3 compilation video series!
Saw the video. I should have made it clear that double jump takes away a heart. I should have made shooting take away less health too...
I find original but a little frustrating the mechanic of losing hearts when you shoot and double jump. After losing hearts you have to go all over the map to look for more hearts, and zombies have a lot of lifes, so you have to do this too much time in the game in my opinion. I think that with some mechanic to get hearts faster the game can really improve. Apart from that, this is a nice game. I like the pixel art, the sound and the control, so good job mate!
Yep, I agree. I wanted to make the shooting and jumping lose you less health, but I ran out of time and was trying to prioritize things like the enemies and the wave spawning mechanic. I'm glad you like the art, I been working a lot on pixel art recently!
The visuals and music are really nice. The damage from shooting is a bit too punishing, since every individual shot is basically worth one heart pickup. I found myself spending much more time jumping around waiting for a heart to drop down than trying to fight the zombies. The idea is cool but could have used some more refining. Everything else about the game is really great though! Nice job!
I like the idea, but in my opinion, if shooting costs only half of the heart it would be more fun because now you just shoot a few times and then you must run for another health.
A bit hard to understand everything, art was very cool though and the music was neat !

It is a fun game. The enemies cost a lot of health to die, and with enemies coming in larger groups, you're constantly in a hit and run situation. The art is really nice, and the music fits the night sky aesthetic really well.
