How did you interpret the theme?
Quite literally, by making a Game Boy game about making a Game Boy game.

How was your experience in this jam?
Awesome, was my second jam. Great to actually get something finished!

This game ruuuuules

So much meta and passion in this little one, loved that you can play it in a real GB, hope the author develops the engine more. ;)

This game was a mood. I wish maybe there were a few more adventure game item puzzles like that bit with the book, but for what it was I dug it. I think I realized I was having a good time during that bit with the trendy game not functioning as an actual mini game. Blatant Link's Awakening references also get it some points <3

Definitly one of the best games in this jam! Everything is great, I couldn't believe that you made a real gameboy game! I want to ressurect my old GB so bad to play this the right way! XD
I still couldn't finish the game, but I'll keep playing for sure!!

Blown away that you made a real GB game.

I did get stuck when I went up into the forest and couldn't get back out due to a black and white object blocking the path. Maybe I ventured to far before completing a required task?

Thanks for playing Jmation! I think it maybe wasn't clear enough where to go at that point!! I've just pushed a small update as it looks like there was a game breaking bug around there you may have run into also.

If you'd like to give it another go I've made you a little map of the forest https://i.imgur.com/6DcEJTS.png

There's a lot more content past that point, it would be a shame to miss it. Here's the full world map https://i.imgur.com/4SO07sN.jpg

That image is a sneak peak into a GameBoy RPG maker I've been working on for a while now, this was the first real test making something with it!

Also your game looks really cool btw, love the art style!
