How does the game fit the theme?
The game fits the theme by throwing the player into a chaotic kitchen where everything can and will go wrong. Machines constantly break down at the worst possible moments, and enemies swarm relentlessly, turning every attempt to fulfill orders into survival challenge.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

It got very chaotic very quick! I found out that the rats only come out after you pick an order and they're a set amount of them which was a relief. I enjoyed the game but I wish you could aim the gun with the mouse instead of controlling my position with the keys. Also the animation is pretty sick, especially the rat death sprites. Good job to the spriters.
Either way, fun stuff!

Great art and audio. At the start, the time pressure is a little too high for me, with everything burning frequently. I also found the gun to be very slow, which I guess was by design. (Maybe there are gun upgrades but I didn't get that far.) Otherwise, I like the design and mechanics implementation. It was easy to figure out what I needed to do.

I like the direction of the game is going, but there's quite a few bugs that reduces the user experience:

  • Bullets shooting, hard to tell if enemy got damaged
  • The numbers on the menu sometimes did not get updated, even though I've picked up the item
  • Repair mechanic not accurate, finished repairing, but it will glitch and stays for a while before disappear
  • Upgrades has no cost listed out
  • Need to use fewer controls, some actions can share the same buttons

Overall, the idea and potential is there, just lack the time for polishing. I can see this as a really really fun game, I hope you guys don't give it up and polish it further.
Let me know if you guys have publish the updated version, I will definitely try again.

Very unique game and I love the visuals! The food menu was cut off on my screen so it was a bit challenging to play.

Very fun and nice artstyle! I did't know what to do with the money, and a healthbar would have been nice.

Pretty interesting game! Was there any way to spend the money? If so I totally missed it haha. Would be cool if you could spend money to upgrade your weapon and stuff. But overall pretty fun!

Thank you! Yes you can spend the money on upgrades, unfortunately did not have time to put prices and improve the feedback of this system(

Hello! Nice game! Here's some feedback:

  • - Weird z-fighting for the fire sprite when the stove breaks. I imagine that might be a bug.
  • + Food names are funny haha
  • - The fire animation is delayed sometimes for some reason.
  • + I think the game fits the theme pretty well
  • + Concept is cool and could easily be expanded.

Congrats!

Simple and intuitive, not bad

I get the feeling that I could spend way too much time playing to this, it feels so good! Reminds me of Awaria, but having the option of fighting back. I just wished the prices of the upgrades were displayed, was a tad confused at first.

I really enjoyed playing this, the gameplay loop is super satisfying and the sound effects while modest are well made/used. While the art itself looks really good sometimes the assets can overlap particularly with the fire. Overall a really cool game which fits the theme and with a bit more polish would be an absolutely incredible game.

Lowkey, really fun! I enjoyed developing this, but to finally play it is even better
