How does the game fit the theme?
The game builds on the theme of ‘What could go wrong?’ by putting you in the shoes of an unqualified security guard in a chaotic, failing system where lights flash, alarms sound and phones ring unpredictably. Every task you fail to perform risks making the mess worse, perfectly illustrating how small mistakes can spell disaster.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used the pack https://vnbp.itch.io/low-poly-3d-office-set-vnb from VNBP - Leo
The proto_controller (modified) from Brackeys
The interaction script from Flynsarmy https://github.com/Flynsarmy/gd-interactable-demo

Beat it! Nice job.
Took a couple of tries and exploration but difficulty was good (perhaps a bit too easy once you know where everything is).
The aesthetic is great! The office looks like it should, the asymmetric design interconnecting rooms works nicely. As an "audio" based game, it worked very well; no extra "location feedback" seems necessary, thus keeping the inmersion. Even though simple, I head-bobbed to the background beat between obstacle activations.
I believe handling stuff would be even quicker if there was a small reticle. Also, the fuse box requires you to be too close. These are minor details.
Congratulations!
Try Tomb Keeper, a beautiful game that I made in just two days and is worth a try: https://amine-developer.itch.io/cemetery-keeper
I really felt anxiety playing that. Really nice horror. And I probably didn't pass a french person check - had a game in beggining to find out that moving is on QSDZ and struggled a lot to find the button to finish the call. Though that worked for the horror and stressful atmosphere
Pressing ESC during a keypad sequence softlocks the game by hiding your cursor
I'm not proud of my work... but what could go wrong... with trying to create your first 3D video game in a week?
