How does the game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme "Nothing can go wrong.." by creating a high-pressure scenario where everything can go wrong at any moment. The player is constantly racing against the rising lava, and even the smallest mistake—like mistiming a jump or slipping off a platform—can lead to failure. The theme is reflected in the tension and urgency of the gameplay, where the player is always one step away from disaster. Despite their best efforts, the threat of the lava reminds them that nothing is guaranteed, and everything can go wrong in an instant.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
For this game, I used some third-party assets that are authorized for use. Specifically:
The character sprites, platform sprites, background art, and sound effects were sourced from third-party creators.
All the code, including the player movement, lava mechanics, and level design, was written by me specifically for this project.

Also a skill issue here! I probably ran through 10 restarts, haha.

I think that this is a well-made, standard platform game. It feels right, the level is challenging. You absolutely cannot make mistakes. I do think, though, that SkySprint doesn't feel different from most other platformers, and I think that is largely due to using stock sprites and sounds. I think the game that you have now works well, but it doesn't feel particularly unique or special, which will help you stand out in future projects.

I did enjoy my 10 playthroughs!

Glad you enjoyed it! This was my first game, so I focused on the basics. I'll definitely work on making future projects more unique. Thanks for the feedback!

Ohh this game give me skill issues. I always died on the spikey thing.

Jump/gravity can be improve for more precise movements.

Overall a good game, really fun!

Haha, I feel you! 😆 Those spikes can be brutal! Thanks for the feedback—I'll definitely look into improving the jump and gravity for better precision. Really glad you had fun!
