That was a fun one. Only one thing though, I would definitely change the maximum speed of the ball. At one point I could hardly track it with my eyes XD
Thanks for your feedback! There is no maximum speed right now. Mwahahahaha.
I made it get faster and faster so that the game progresses faster. If you only have 1 ball on screen, slow-medium speed balls would be near impossible to get past it. But if i lowered the AI speed , when there are multiple balls, the balls get past it too easily and player won't have enough time to consider their options. Not too sure how to do it without speeding up the ball, but I definitely should have a soft cap on the max speed.
Ball interacting with chat messages as physical objects, sounds really unique and it really is. Good job done here. Needs a little polishing and a nice background music to make it even better.
Took three game-plays and game-rules rereads to understand what is going on. Indeed, unpolished, but that's for sure the most original idea I've seen here so far.
I really liked how this game has many different lines you can go through. The invisible balls and the speedup does give this game a nice challenge. If only there was some sound whenever you scored. I like how the game looks visually, but it would be nice if the balls themselves were cool. Good game!
Haha yeah! Ran out of time to polish - or make a menu.
Only found out about the jam halfway through .
My audio was inspired by John Cage's 4'33 - you are part of the music! :P
Very cool concept! I like that there's multiple things to think about - sifting out the bad messages, and then trying to get one of the good messages through. I found the pong a bit challenging - it generally had to be going really fast before I could get past my opponent. Satisfying when I get through though!
Thanks for trying it out and for the feedback ^^
Was trying to balance between risk vs reward in the sense where you can get rid of bad messages early on but it means its harder for any message to get through later on. Didn't want to shut down either method by making it too hard or easy so it led to slightly longer pong gameplay than I would have liked - though if you found it challenging i think i succeeded to some degree at least >.<
