In what way does your game fit the theme?
You play as a cassette tape and you leave a tape trail as you move. You can rewind the tape which moves you back to where you were previously, while destroying enemies in your path. Plus the graphics and sound effects help rewind you back to the 80's.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code myself and made most assets from scratch. I did not make the music, fonts or most of the sound effects, but they are all licensed for commercial use. All the attributions are on the game's page. Every other asset was made by me.

Pretty fun!
I love the graphics and sounds! :D
Thanks so much!
it have 80s and syntwave music, no need other words.
I agree lol! Thanks for playing!
Amazing game. The biggest strenght if the game is visuals also I LOVED the gameplay. You kept the game interesting, while keeping it original. The only bummers would be that if you survive for long enough, enemies stop spawning and that tutorial is in the menu, you could put it in the beginning of the level. Also you could make, for each enemy you kill with the tape you heal a bit of life.
Thats the only game so far I'll keep on my computer after the jam
Thank you so much for the super nice comment! Some songs get to a low point where enemies stop spawning giving room for players to breathe in between if they didn't kill the enemies quick enough. Although I do admit the level end screen might take just a few seconds too long to appear when the song is finished. Glad you loved it!
I really like how your game looks. Nothing really seems out of place, which shows the effort you put into it to make everything fit. Fitting levels to look like tapes is a nice touch and the audios great too. If there's one thing I'd try to balance, it would be the fact that the player is both invincible and destroys enemies while rewinding. Having an option that is both defensive (invincibility) and offensive (kills enemies in one shot as opposed to the blaster) means the player is encouraged to just spam rewind instead of dodging.
Thanks a bunch for the comment! While the player is immune to damage on contact you can still get hurt by enemy projectiles/explosions. I mainly wanted the rewind mechanic to feel satisfying and powerful rather than unused and forgotten. I appreciate the kind words!
