Playing with multiple characters makes the game easier. If someone dies, you have to revive, or else the game gets hard.

First of all congrats on getting something out even if it is unfinished. I liked the graphics and the gameplay felt like it could lead to some frantic situations. I too had issues where I was taking no damage like another commenter below. But it makes sense considering your situation, but keep at it and hope you can release a more complete version.
I really liked your pixel art, especially the menu screen.

Sadly, the player did not get any damage by the zombies and the game was quite easy. But I know you did not finish so it can´t be perfect ;)
