In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player is divided into two characters that can merge together and separate to solve problems. They can only attack enemies when merged, making them Stronger Together.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all code hand written by myself, along with all art, music and sounds. Source files available if required.

Very nice idea, fits the theme really good. Graphics can be improved a bit, mostly to remove outline from the player and enemies. It kind of breaks that flat-design look, because with walls that have no outline, other sprites that have outline really stood out to me like something that is just a placeholder. Sounds and music are really good, and I had a lot of fun playing it. Great job!

Hey, thanks for playing and for the feedback. The idea was to update all the other graphics to have a similar sort of outline to bring it all together, I think I was stuck between two art styles and couldn’t decide on a particular style. I’m a graphic designer in my day job and wish I could have spent more time working on the art, but there were so many quirks in the code that ended up taking a lot more of my time....you can ‘unmerge’ in a tight space to break out of the boundaries of the level in certain places, I didn’t have time to fix that 🤫

I got very confused with to controls at first, but once I got the hang of it it was really fun! I could see this gimmick used in a full-scale game and even as a multiplayer. Good job!

suprisingly fun considering I have the multitasking skills of a potato

Developer

Thanks, the multitasking is a bit of a brain melter!

The camera feels really smooth and the player movement is great. I'm stuck on what I think is the final boss (the big moving box). I pressed the buttons and nothing opened.

Developer

I'm sorry for the late reply, I was in a rush making the final boss, you hit the switches and the panel on the front turns purple and you shoot it while merged. I really wanted to spend more time telegraphing these mechanics to make it more obvious. There were plans to add some puzzle levels that more clearly explained the mechanic to prepare you.

nice game.I think you can increase difficulty by having power shooting enemies .Keep going:)

Developer(+1)

thanks for the comment. Yeah I had a prototype of shooting enemies, but it required too much tweaking of the camera zoom otherwise it made it reeeeeeally tough finding them in time before they got you.   and as with all great jams there’s just never enough time. I loved making this game so definitely want to improve it after!
