How does you game fit the theme?
It is a game about imagination as a mean of coping.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all code and created all assets, exept for the single wall texture.

The design is very original although the shadows on the walls made me lose myself in that art, good story, it really surprised me, I was expecting a jumpscare but it didn't happen haha I left you a rating and I invite you to try and rate mine here I leave the link

Great game! I am impressed by how strong the game hits with this neat idea.
Graphics are great, they put the player in the right mood. Also the horror part of the game left me quite worried through all the time, as i was walking thinking "no jump scares, please!" :)

Nice fx, very cool :) Well done on the jam!

Very cool game! I like the graphics very much!

Great looking game! It reminds me of those "Can it run Doom" projects. xD It would be awesome if Much Love Cathrine would run on an old 8-bit computer for example.

Really cool aesthetic! How did you get the graphics to look like that in Unity? Shader Graph?

Developer(+2)

Im not sure if it can be done in Shader Graph. I used a shader script. The style is called dithering, you can find a lot of resources/shaders for this style. Thanks for playing!!

I really like the aesthetic of the game. Clever use of shaders giving a simple dungeon crawling a sense of unease and mystery. Narration through found letters was also a great touch. One of the most visually pleasing game I played so far :)

Fantastic game! I love the visual design. How did you do that? Was it a custom shader?  To be honest I got stuck on one of the later levels which is really annoying as wish I could have seen what is next.

Love the graphics, very original, quite a old GameBoy feeling ah ah.

Cool vibe

Extremely nice game, loved the vibes ^^ Great job !

Really good work, I love this retro look, and the story

I really like the mysterious atmosphere and feel of this game, especially the visuals. The dithering and the detail of occasional rats and ghosts appearing on screen along with the slow discovery of the story were fitting together really well here. The color palette also makes you feel like you’re in a photo taken in the 19th century.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! The game is heavily inspired by The Return of the Obra Dinn, which I can recommend!

Nice Game !

I actually finished it ! Nice strory ! The style of the game is actually really cool !

PS: Is there different endings? Like In the Railway there is 2 directions to take

Developer(+2)

Wow great! I glad you enjoyed the story, writing isnt what Im good at so it was quite challenging.

Currently there is only one ending, but thats a great idea for an addition!

Submitted(+3)

Really loved the atmosphere and how the game was presented, everything was on point, really good work ^^

Good old dithering! Really nice look & atmosphere. Maybe you’ll be interested in a thread by the developer of Return of the Obra Dinn about how his dithering approach works - he greatly reduces flickering when you move the camera.

Gameplay-wise, I couldn’t really understand what you’re supposed to do. I moved through the whole map 5 times and only found two pieces of paper (with no apparent clues), some mice, and an occasional ghost. Did I miss something?

Anyways, good job, looks like a nice game!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the feedback! You have to find the keys to pass through the door.

Thanks for the atricle, the flickering is a challenge and I basically just made a very simple implementation of a dither shader. (However playing Obra Dinn definitely inspired this!
