Cool idea! It looks pretty, nice models and effects. I managed to throw myself out of the ring :) Needs a bit of polish.
Welp I some how threw my own self out the ring....
interesting game, its kind of like a 3d smash bros with out wave dashing or attacks. the visuals are nice and the sounds are okay. I liked the presentation. but the character physics are kind of lacking. I didn't enjoy the instant stopping that comes from using the ropes. there were times where I wanted to go from one side of the ring to the other but the dash from the ropes stopped all momentum. I kind of feel like that stops the momentum of the game too. There is precise movement here but I think momentum of players should take time to slow down.
sidenote anyone remember playing that cartoon network game, Ed, Edd, and Eddy Cul-De-Sac Smash? this game sorta reminds me of it. the physics for the cars momentum in that game sort of illustrate what I'm talking about.
It looked very good! I couldn't play it with more people, but I really liked the idea and the shooting from the strings is very cool! :)
The impact particle system is very satisfying! It was very fun to knock other gifts around and assert dominance haha. I'm sure it's due to the time constraints but the effects for other players dying could have been done better. The core mechanic is executed quite well and it is fun to fling yourself across the ring. The movement speed feels slow and slugish compared to launching yourself off the rope but even without that base comparison. It took too long to run back to the rope after a poorly calculated(missed) launch. Great job and keep up the good work!
Bouncing off the ropes is cool! Good job on the the 3d models and particle effects! You can take this and add some more moves later if you want to (a sidestep dodge maybe?) Fun game! Please play Puma Cat if you can~
