I too like the pick a number system, but I feel without forethought, it's too easily gamed. With the range system, you'd never want to pick numbers that range out of the guessing amount - e.g. for 1-6 with a skill of 1, you'd never guess 1 or 6, but 2 or 5. Regardless, I like how it has a full TTRPG system! Great job.
Ohh, that is a great point. My original incarnation basically had critical if you got the number exactly, but I ran out of room. Not sure if that would help because your odds are still better guessing inward like that. Could maybe fix that if gms allowed a sort of overflow, like if you guessed 1 and had a skill of 1, you'd also succeed if the number was 6. Thanks for the feedback!

Excellent simple game. Pick a number is not a dice-less resolution mechanic I've ever considered before but it works well!
