Nice game! I liked the art a lot, there's a lot of world in there! I didn't quite finish it, I got to the underground part where there are altars with symbols on (the second time) but I ran out of keys and couldn't remember where I left one so I stopped there. I was really intrigued as to what was going to happen though, if the character had a sprint mode or something I probably would have continued. As it was I had already got lost several times, if I could move faster I wouldn't have minded so much. But yeah nice game, thanks! An impressive amount of content for sure!!
You are completely right, I should've added sprint mode, especially since this is a game for a jam! Kind of an oversight on my part, thanks for pointing it out!
Thanks a lot for the kind words!
I like the pixel art although it would have been nice to have character movement. The mystery of what happened was definitely interesting. I did think this game could have used a better soundtrack. After a while, that same drum beat repeating over and over again became a bit monotonous. The effort seemed to be put into creating the world, which I give you kudos for that. Overall, a good job!
I agree, the soundtrack wasn’t my main focus and I’m a bit musically challenged when it comes to composing music. Next time I will probably collaborate with someone or just simply get better at composing.
Thanks a lot for the honest review! :)
very interesting game
This game had a really interesting backstory and the amount of art drawn is very impressive for the time period. Well written and pretty!
PS. I had some trouble finishing the game because I couldn't pick up the bow(?) from the "He comes" room. It highlighted "e" but I wasn't able to pick it up.
I believe you're talking about the quill and ink bottle - I forgot to put it as simple sprites and instead it's an empty interactable, sorry for the confusion! It's not needed to progress anyways. :)
Thanks a lot for the kind words!
