Played as a group of three.
We enjoyed the artwork, it had a very authentic feel to it, like the adventures of old.
We felt some of the writing could use proofreading, it's mostly minor typos.
There were a few logical problems we ran into - we understood to plug the boat with the ring because it was the same size as the hole, but it didn't make any sense - a ring has a hole in it. Also, we expected the knight to move when we wore the crown, but we ended up giving it to him.
All in all, a good adventure, and we didn't feel like we had to struggle meaninglessly. A good entry!
Thanks you ! English is not my native langage :-)
Yes, you're right. I should clarify about the head of the ring, not the ring shank.
Aha! Like a sovereign ring?
Exactly. I should update this.
Looks like ZX Times font? Great to see it in use, game looks sweet. Will try it out.
Yes, I choose one on your page. As Chris made an exhausting hum… I mean exhaustive advertising about your work on ZX fonts :-)
New update. Check for version 1.03.
Hi !
I have updated my game. Fixed some issues (x boat). Maybe it's easier. Enjoy !
PS: You should try it again if you we're stuck somewhere. Maybe you should QUIT the game before retrying. Checks it's version 1.02.
A very well game with a kind of hybrid zx spectrum vector art + 16-bit palette presentation.
The puzzles were mostly logical. I found the verb that had to be used to deal with the troll to be a bit difficult to find naturally. I also found that objects were perhaps places too conveniently at the start without having to work for them.
It was very creative to mix fantasy and sci-fi together. Nice to see the original game completely contorted beyond recognition whilst still aligning with the rules.
There still remain some technical issues with the game, such as the boat description not updating, but the feel of this game is one of the high points of the competition. I love this art style, and I truly hope you make more games using your considerable talent.
Big thanks to your daughter for helping with the English translations. I enjoyed playing the game very much.
I draw on Amstrad CPC a lot, so I wanted to try something new. I intend to use Win/Multipaint in MSX mode 2. That's were the initial 16 color palette came from. But I experience issue with coloring because of unknow MSX mode emulation constraint. I go back to Photoshop, mainly because I run out of time the last day.
Love the atmosphere on this one. A few issues though:
To get out of the first room, you have to 'climp up' rather than climb. I only discovered this through an accidental typo!
I now seem to be stuck at the lake, because even though I've fixed the boat with the ring (although the game is now saying I haven't), I can only 'use boat' or 'sail boat' if I'm carrying the gold, which is apparently a bad idea!
I'll keep trying to see if there's something I'm missing here.
Thanks you !
Now that we can edit our jam entries, I'll try to debug what I can.
That's great, I'll have another go!
Finished the game! This was a fun one. I liked the forest at the end - it didn't seem to be mappable but it was easy enough to traverse. Lovely theme too!
Thanks ! I want to experiment with Adventuron locations mapping system, without creating a frustating maze. Adventuron works fine on these locations.
