I wasn't as adept as Chris. I failed to avoid them. Without a reticule my shooting was way off. The game scared me. I enjoyed it though!
I will add a reticule to the to do list I didn't even think about that
So the 3D graphics effects were really good, but the theme again was just avoid the objects, and I managed to avoid them all by holding down left while I kept looking at the emitter. It could have benefited by having to destroy them before they hit something or have to collect one the objects to stop your self dying? Also a background of some kind would have been nice so it’s not just a black expanse - stars or something if it’s in space? I didn’t manage to destroy anything with the gun, but maybe I was just really bad at it :( It was nice to see a 3D game in this game jam!
Thanks for the feedback, you weren't bad at it unfortunately I wasn't able to implement a cool-down on the weapon so the player could spam the fire button and kill too many enemies , so I had to up the enemies health to a way too high a degree, something I hope to fix the next time I work on a game similar to this. As for the background, I simply ran out of time, completely my fault.
I want to give this one more stars because it's an interesting abstract "pure gameplay" experiment. It looks visually interesting/exciting in motion and has decent sound implementation that adds to the experience.
However, it's not intuitive at all and lacks any instructions on what I'm meant to be doing. Even once I'd worked it out, I felt like it needed to ease the player in a bit some much slower/easier rounds to get the hang of it. This would also make up for the lack of instructions!
