unity crashed.. whole project got corrupt...

This is why you should use source control and constantly save.

That's why I constantly save a backup of the project in another folder

Corrupting project is a thing? Oh sh*t... I should figure sth out to prevent this...

Unity crashes many times on my PC but project never get corrupted. Maybe try download higher Unity version and reimport project.
