really specific sample manipulation question

OK, so with regards the idea that you can "manipulate the sample whatever way you choose, but no using any extra sample"

Can you, for instance, use the sample as a wavetable/sample in Vital, as long as you only use chiptone samples/wavetables and not any others?

In my head this is likely going a bit far with this, but at the same time all vital would really be doing is "manipulating the sample" so I could go either way on it and wanted some kind of official opinion lol. Fully expecting a "no" haha

I don't know what is vital, but if You use the chiptone wavs i think theres no problem :)

It's a wavetable synthesiser but having played around a bit I've worked out how I think best to use the chiptone samples with it- just as samples lol, using them as wavetables effectively creates a whole new sound, whereas as a sample the chiptone sound is recognisable but you get the other benefits of running it through vital (glide, legato, effects etc)
