Status: Still looking for members |

Vrood and SQLPY here. We’re forming a team for the jam and will be working in Godot 4.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Sound designers, composers, level designers, artists, graphic designers, etc. Basically anyone who wants to help with the creative side.
  • Programmers with a bit of experience. We don’t want to overload that role, but if you’re comfortable with Godot (or coding in general), have some experience and want to join, reach out!

About Us

Vrood

What I can do

I have a decade of experience running D&D games and I’m a novice programmer. I’ve worked on a handful of jams as part of collaborations—check out my itch page for examples!

What I’d like to do

I’m looking to do narrative design and a bit of project management. I’m also happy to help with backend programming or fill any other gaps in the project as a chance to learn!

SQLPY

What I can do

I have around 3 years of experience with Godot and have participated in a few game jams, mainly as a solo dev. My strong suit is probably programming and polish (I enjoy obsessing over details!). I’m not formally trained as a programmer, however I have an engineering background, so I gotchu if there is maths stuff to figure out! I also have some UX design experience, turns out that translates quite well to many aspects of game design and is part of the reason why I picked up game dev in the first place.

What I’d like to do

For this jam, I’d love to focus on polish, game-feel, shaders, and UI/UX. I also enjoy programming and sound design but don’t need to have this as my main focus if someone else wants to take on those aspects but I’ll help where I can if requested!

Practical stuff

We expect you do your best to have good collaboration ettiquette, ya know, stuff like:

  • Being open to having a back-and-forth on ideas and hearing each other out
  • Speaking up when you disagree
  • Respecting what we agree upon as group
  • Giving feedback on each others parts of the project
  • Not overworking yourself!
  • Trusting each others judgments so we can have creative freedom
  • Being kind to each other since we are all here to learn and have fun

That way we can all enjoy the jam, everyone feels heard and we can focus on making something we will all feel proud of!

Reach out here or by adding us on Discord :D

I would like to join your group in the creative side, If you're in need of a writer for your game project, I’d be happy to help with story creation, dialogue, or narrative design. Please feel free to reach out to me in discord @ser_13 . Looking forward to connecting

Hey! We had a chat about it and specifically writing is probably a department we are good in already since Vrood has experience with that and we don’t want to make a game that is super reading heavy for a jam, as that will likely end with something like a novel-like structure to be enjoyable or text adventure which is not what we want to do.

The only exception would be if we do storytelling through some other medium like world building or such, but that might only fill a minor role. If you have other areas you can and want to contribute with, we can of course still figure something out. Then we can see if we can fit in some writing as well depending on what we end up making but just saying ahead of time that if you really want to do text based work you’re probably better off finding another team where your skills will be of more use and more appreciated. Thanks for reaching out though <3

Hey,
how about  joining as a game designer. I have a decent level of experience with Unity and a solid understanding of basic game mechanics. I believe I could contribute to brainstorming ideas and help with playtesting to ensure the game is engaging and well-balanced. Let me know if this would be a good fit!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey! If you need help with level design or overall game design, I'd like to be of assistance! My time will be limited since I have a full-time job and my own project on the side, so for now I'd prefer being in more of a supporting role rather than a core member of the team.
My skill-set is mainly the use of Godot, programming in GDScript and using Blender for 3D modelling. I canalso do basic pixel or vector art sprites in Aseprite/Affinity Designer. I mainly see myself as an aspiring game designer, but as a solo-dev I end up spending much more time on programming and game assets ^^'

Yeah for sure!

We can definitely use an extra set of hands/eyes for general purpose stuff with whatever you got the time for! Shoot me a message on discord @sqlpy
