  • Although you're still in high school so you couldn't compete, you should be extremely proud of this game! It is well made and the puzzles are well thought out. I like the spin on the standard puzzle platformer and it was a clever integration of our theme. The design is very clean and the game is quite polished! Some people may get frustrated at the lack of checkpoints/resetting to the beginning if you mess up but its still super fun, nice work! --- Really fantastic game! I loved the mechanics of swapping/placing blocks, it reminded of BoxBoy and BoxGirl. This is insanely impressive, ESPECIALLY for a team of high school students. Keep it up y'all, you're doing awesome. :D --- 32/40

Absolutely great game! I love puzzle platformers like this. The replication mechanic is very fun. At first, I thought it might be a little too simple, but I genuinely surprised by it. By Level 4 I was using it to solve the puzzles, but I found that if I have extra replication, I might use one as a pseudo checkpoint. I started seeing new opportunities to use it and I really like that.

For feedback, I think the control scheme is a little funky. Sometimes in platforms, w is a jump key, and when I am using space and w back in forth my tiny brain stops functioning and I accidentally jump when I want to replicate and vice versa. I would honestly prefer it on like r or f. I know r is used already but maybe that could be swapped to a key slightly farther away so avoid accidental hits. I didn't accidentally hit but I bet someone will, so maybe two birds with one stone?  Also if you have the chance to add more levels, a more drawn-out introduction would be nice. Introducing one concept at a time. It might seem a little slow, but I think it will help streamline the experience. If there is less to experiment within the very first level, it feels like the player is making progress while still learning the game. It took me a while to do level one but that is just because I was experimenting a lot.

I  had so much fun playing this. Thank you for a great submission!

Now this is right up my alley. Love the replicating mechanic you've got going here. It's super simple, yet affords a bunch of interesting design opportunities!

For feedback, I'd say tighten up that difficulty curve. While the first level is cool, I'd say an easier layout that requires only 1 or 2 replications would be a better fit for teaching new players the game! You can ramp up the challenge from there, since the levels you got rn are all real good.
