What work(s) of philosophy does your piece take as its primary source(s)?
Greenhouse Studios. What If? Twenty-Two Scenarios in Search of Images

Please tell us about your piece.
FlusserVision is a 3D experience that imagines what some of these futures might look like. Users move from abstract to concrete, from surreal to real, from placelessness to the places in between. Post-war remains. A futuristic city. Perpetual Peace. These are the environments that the user’s avatar navigates as they wander upon traces of the past that spark curiosity. FlusserVision is produced by the University of Connecticut’s Greenhouse Studios, but has team members from a range of skill sets and backgrounds. Equitable collaboration was at the heart of the creation of this project with emphasis placed on interdisciplinary and interpersonal learning. The team coalesced around shared themes, visual languages, and the desire to bring to life Flusser’s futures during an uncertain time in our shared history. Team members include Jonathan Ampiaw, Anke Finger, Tom Lee, Wenchao Lou, Catherine Masud, Garrett McComas, Sara Sikes, Carly Wanner-Hyde, and Miles Waterbury.

This was a pretty interesting piece. I had to play a couple times and watch the video trailer to fully understand how the presentation and overall aesthetic creatively presented Flusser's ideas. Once I understood it, I thought it was a very impressive implementation! Thanks for sharing your creative work.

One small issue: I had some browser issues on Firefox. I had to switch to Chrome to get the game to work (it would freeze after I collected a token). This might be just my version of Firefox, but I thought to flag it anyway in case my experience is not unique.

Hi, there! It should become possible for you to vote if you click on this link.

Please give only one 5-star rating to a single project -- that is, please vote only once, for your very favorite project, that isn't your own. This is to ensure that the popular winner doesn't go to the project that happens to be rated the most times.

Voting will close when the counter on the jam page reaches zero, at 23:59/11:59PM CET/GMT+1 on December 12th, 2022! Your vote will not be made public until the full results for the competition are announced on December 15th on the jam page and on the jam community board.

While you can only vote for one submission, please leave as many comments as you like on all the submissions that strike your fancy! This goes for anyone who entered the jam or who stumbles upon it on the site, even if they didn't submit anything or can't vote! It'd be wonderful to get some good discussions going. If you're not sure where to start with evaluating projects, I've prepared a list of questions to ask yourself as you explore and reflect upon your experiences with each one here. I hope they're helpful to you!

As always, if you have any questions, please either reply to this message or post on the jam's FAQ here. Thank you!
