Aesthetics - 3.5
Gameplay - 4
Engagement - 3
Local multiplayer games are neat for jams. I've always wanted to make one. Sadly, I didn't have someone around to play it with and it actually took me a minute to realize that I was playing a multiplayer game. lol
The pixel art and environmental effects are cool but sometimes readability was tricky due to the low level of detail. Some sound effects that signal the type of weather could help.
The gameplay is cool and unique. It took me a minute to understand what my goal was, but I looked at the itch page and realized that the little red and blue dots were people that I was supposed to be hitting. Going into engagement here a bit, I couldn't get my zoom out to work which made it tricky to know where I was aiming the ball. I think fixing that and giving it some audio/visual feedback on when you're hitting people would hold my attention a bit better too.
All around this is really fun and novel spin on a billiard type of game and it would be cool to see it developed further!
Thanks for making it and sharing!

I really like the idea behind this project. I think location-based stuff is really neat.
I ranked 3 for Aesthetics because I felt like the character and world were disconnected. Maybe a character model who felt like they were ready to brave any weather that came their way would feel better, or even just putting a house model nearby could help sell the character being there. Or even just having a light orb instead of a human character. I think the focus of your idea is on the weather and the environment and the character distracted me from that.
Gameplay and Engagement landed on a 3 because I couldn't get the local address to work even after signing up for an API key and trying a few times to delete the old key and import mine. I hit enter and saw a debug message at the top, but I never got it to work, unfortunately.
Pairing up with a musician to do some minimal music changes that are dependent on the weather could have added to the engagement a bit too, but I know jams are tricky with finding team members and finding time.
Overall, it's a neat concept! I'm going to try to get it to work for me a few more times. Thanks for making it and sharing!
Very cute! I liked the theming of the game. One thing is it's possible to merge weathers(? weather patterns? precipitates?) before they hit the bottom as the game doesn't generate a new piece until the last one lands. But otherwise very cute, loved it!
