If you want to improve this in the future, maybe making the background serene like the thumbnail could be cool, and trying to incorporate a lot of synthwave/vapourwave styles of colouring, using garish colours like magenta that the slider could gradually turn into being green depending on its percentage. Also, if you did something like this and used a sea front like the thumbnail, you could turn the sky into the slider or have it change based on the day or season.
Thank you for the great ideas! I was actually thinking the same thing with that sort of tranquil, overly "inspirational-looking" changing background. Still, I've got a lot to learn before trying to make those changes - luckily there's a decade left to do that :)
