Which NEW Lightship template(s) did you use?
Meshing shader + semanticSegmentation

How is your project related to the theme? (Optional)
Make more connection with real world people and environment, combine effects into mix reality world is fun.

How have you innovated on this product? (Optional)
Combine person semantic with depth data and environment mesh, they could change color together. I combine Unity VFX to make cool spark to make my son to be his favorite character

How does it speak to Niantic's mission? (Optional)
It let me discuss how we could make the different AR effect with my family. My children were very involved in this work

How complete is your project? (Optional)
It demo the visual idea and proof the semantic with VFX could be possible and great reat potential, and I tried to make some custom shader for mesh but not good enough yet.

Judges' Feedback

Nolen Tabner, Software Engineer:

Impressive VFX work utilizing the semantic channels but i'd love to see it more fleshed out into a complete experience. The current iteration felt more like a tech demo and little incomplete. Maybe even just something a simple as "trying on" different VFX, akin to how Snap has Lenses.

PatCat, Lightship Leader:

I quite like the shader work here and would love to learn to do this sort of thing myself! I liked the customisation of colours set up too. A nice small concept put together well for the mini-jam.

I really liked how you overcome the limitation of the Meshing Shader through Semantic Segmentation, a great solution! The only issue I found with it is the player's perspective, as the one using the application can see everything but not interact with it, while the person that is actually interacting with the AR elements has no idea what they are interacting with.
