I agree with the other comments in that this game doesn't really fit the theme and is just a standard shooter. Otherwise it could have potential but clearly there are some issue to overcome like the enemy and friend AIs (although I did enjoy the explanation behind the friends' teleportation when they got stuck, a pretty creative and fun way to encorporate a bug as a feature).

Thanks for playing, I did make a blunder in not following the rules of the theme, will be more careful next time :)

In any other game jam, I'd be fine with this entry, but I don't think it really fits with this one. It's already been discussed here so I don't want to add on but this does feel like a shooter game that's been reskinned. There is potential though, especially with regards to hacking the robots, it's just the whole theme of going into enemy territory and rescuing prisoner's really leans on a war theme.

Developer

Yeah you are definitely right man. Idk what actually happened cause I was really trying to make sure i follow the theme properly but i got lost into making the game that I added elements unknowningly that ended up straying away from the original plan. I have to be more careful next time. Thank you for playing ;)

so , first of all  i fell off at the end of the map , second i suggest someting like instead of shutting them down you "send" a beam that hacks them and makes them freindly , the core game has potential

Developer

For 1, it is fixed in a new version i uploaded on the itch.io site. For 2,that was actually the original plan! However time was not my friend ;)

I found it a bit hard to like this game. In any other context I would not have felt hard on it I guess. The hope that I have been experiencing from the other games submitted is missing and so makes the fact we are shooting things seem a bit odd. I am not sure you were that happy with the non violence part of the jam and so ended up making something which basically is shoot things anyway. I liked the saving people and being stronger together idea though. It is what it is and lots has been done well.

Developer

Yeah I didnt really spend enough time thinking about how to make the game fit the theme properly,  partly because I didnt focus on making the game due to other life problems. Its kinda messed up and I dont like the end product either,  I know if I would have put more effort it could have been something better, this is a lesson for me to learn, next time I'll put more  effort into the game design beforehand. Thank you for your honest feedback!
