Ah, this one will stick with me. It's so unsettling in such a specific way that just makes it feel more real. Great idea for La Petite Mort!

This leaves me with so many questions. Is the MC just losing his grip due to a toddler that doesn’t know any better stressing them all out? Or is something else going on under the surface.

Yes definitely a compliment. Sometimes there’s something about having to speculate about what is really going on rather than having it completely spelled out and removing all the mystery that just works for some stories, you know?
