Holy snaps, I won with my magic sword?!
I felt silly for going pretty much everywhere but it worked well. I did note the victory/win music just cut out after a while though. Doesn't it loop? Pressing enter seems to repeat the current song until that point.
Ok. I was so affraid to not finish my game that I made it in the Mac Donald's way. Finally it's not finished and it's not really a game but I was glad to participate to a game jam and learn a few things.
I'll try to spend more time on my next game to do something better.
I'm just teasing. It's a good start, having all that would be needed in a text adventure. Seriously, you should be proud of making!
If you add some status changes like health it would have combat!
The music stopping was likely because it's set to play once.
I try to play this, but double-clicking the .exe doesn't make anything happen!
Hi!
I'm sorry it doesn't work for you. I shall do my best to fix it but I'm not a real programmer so be indulgent please.
Just in case I wouldn't achieve to find a solution to this issue, don't be disapointed : the total game duration is about 5 to 10 minutes depending on the player's curiosity.
Bye.
1) Be sure to not move the exe file outside its own folder.
2) Can you tell me about your hardware and software ?
Nice game, I like the simple graphics.

Small graphic update.
This game was ok. I liked the blue palette, it's very pleasing to the eye. And I also like how it's pretty much a text adventure game. But the thing about text adventures was that there was a lot of choice. "Can I pick that up? Can I use this item on that thing? Can I give this item to that guy?", that sort of stuff. This game is pretty much the bare bones of that. The game could really benefit of a lot more choices and paths before the final boss. Some music and an animated background (maybe a snow falling background like a screensaver?) to fill the grey parts to the left and right of the screen wouldn't hurt either.
Thank you for all your advices. I'm ok with what you said. You describe how the game would look like if I was a good programmer. I have abandonned almost all the games I started so my 1st goal is to finish what I begin and I sent the minimal running game.
I hope to improve this small adventure with more interactions, choices and fights.
Congratulations for your first game! That was Also the case with my first finished game. There wasn't a whole Lot of stuff to do to keep the player engaged. But, it gave me motivation to keep going and improve my games. Again, I really liked the color palette and the simplistic graphics and the fact that it's a text adventure game, so keep working and you'll eventually hace a really nice adventure game!
First minor graphics update.
