This story is cool! Like some other people said, the text appears too slowly. I'm a fast reader, and I basically had to read the line, wait, read the line, etc. I understand the dramatic timing, though, so maybe it could be an option? Other than that, very nice job.
Whats wrong with Connecticut? I'm not familiar with North American geography enough to quickly get the points made during the intro. Don't get me wrong - it's a quite enticing storyline...just a little hard to follow sometimes.
The engine itself works quite well for this kind of game. My only problem is that once I go back from a link, I have to wait for the text to slowly fade in...again.
Also, got an error message after "my father poked his head thru the half open door" (playing as Rashida): "macro <<nexff>> does not exist". Seems that after that, the game seems to have lost track of where I was?
But hey, Starfleet! Awesome!
You're a competent writer and will certainly make a very good game once you could iron out the kinks.
Would appreciate to have a way to speed the text up. Other than that, it's looking good. Well, it's just text but it's a nice and simple UI.
To be honest the text appearance speed was a little too slow for me and I almost passed on this one. I'm glad I stuck with it though because the writing is really good. Still working my way through it.
Duuuude, this is one of the best text-adventures I've played in a long time! Can't wait to see the finished product ( ;-;) I'm on edge thinking about it
