Lovely graphics, challenging game. I included it in my Finally Finish Something Jam compilation video series, if you'd like to take a look. :)

Thanks Second Dimension Games, you're probably right about the controls, I suspect through the development process I got used to the controls which made it seem easy to me, whereas for other players it's probably not quite as intuitive, so I welcome the feedback and will look into tweaking the movement.

I like the way it looks, the pixel art and music work well together. I like the old school arcade feel as well, and moving to different areas with different enemies is cool. The movement is tricky though, I tried it a few times with shooting first before moving. It's just because it takes so long to build up horizontal momentum it makes precise jumping really difficult. I think with a slight tweak to that it would a really fun little arcade game

Developer

I believe it might be a bug, if you click the button to shoot before moving it seems to correct it, thanks for the heads up.

There's something with the movement I think, I guess you try to move the character via physics, right? It doesn't feel very responsive.
