Haha, lovely little comic! I wanted to make my own little comic, but I had a lack of inspiration. I like the format as well, it requires you to draw only little and still get a point across.
And I agree that there is a lot of seemingly-useless merch, but I do wonder... if I need a mug anyway and choose to buy a merch-mug, is that so bad? Or if I really want something on my wall, and decide for it to be a merch-poster - something I care about - that isn't too bad either right? Figurines, toys and other stuff also have their place, as children's items to play with - they need toys anyway. I personally love my (few) Mario figurines on my desk!
So out of curiosity I wonder what "purposeless stuff" you are referring to. Could you enlighten me more on your view of this topic? :D
Hi Nick, first of all thanks ! I feel like a mug or even a decoration or a T-Shirt are useful, since they serve a purpose. Toys too ! But you can still get a classic mug which will cost a lot less than a One Piece or a Mario mug. You are totally free to get things related to your favorite universe, game or manga, but it can quickly become ridiculous : The amount of items with Spiderman, Mario or anyone just randomly throwned into the box is enormous. And I can agree to buy a Mario T-Shirt or a Mario Poster, but i feel like buying Mario Cereals or Mario tissues is just a way for Nintendo to artificially make the prices higher. Yes to T-Shirt, Toys and Posters ! No to Branded food and temporary items ! Thanks again for your time, big love on ya !

Very nice zine! I included it in my Fuck Capitalism Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out!
Thanks a lot !
mh!! at some point, walking into a Gamestop became an alienating experience and similar thoughts occurred. good to see them laid down in a comic.
Must. resist. the. urge. to. buy. toys. :)
