It is a fun game that just needs a couple small tweaks to go from good to great. The dash mechanic feels great to use, although the bullet behavior probably shouldn't have bounce on walls. Throughout the level segments there could be different music tracks. You could make the boss cause you to die on contact, you could also slightly decrease the weight of the character to make the boss fight easier and the physics of the character to be a little less harsh. There also should be more importance towards swords, possibly the final boss could use one? But overall a fun end product that I would like to see improved/built upon further.
Most of those have an explanation.
The level music (not the boss music) was added in at the last minute. The absence of swords, the boss not killing you, and the boss not using a sword are due to us using the optional twist of "no violence". We weren't sure whether to leave the bounce after dashing or remove it.
Admittedly, we didn't think about loosening up the physics for the bossfight.
