Just had a look at your game.

It's a nice little 2D action platformer.  While I can see you used a lot of premade artwork, the game design was well executed in my opinion and animations and transitions were smooth.

Hey there crazyhoundgamedesign!

Thanks for your kind words and for playing the initial draft :)

Indeed my aim was to smooth things out the most, specially to get a grasp on Godot & GDScript and not waste too much time with assets right now. Found this awesome asset pack by PixelFrog and went with it. 😁

Work has been crazy this last couple of weeks that only now I had some time to look at my e-mails and play your submission. Interesting concept to have it been based on a real event, I could feel through the text after my tries. Found the color pallete to be pleasant and balanced as well, for a initial prototipe.

Keep up the good work and have an awesome week!🍻

thanks for the response.

I'm only just starting out with making and publishing games.  While there are things I'd like to improve in my game, it's about as much as I can do for now (I've been learning a bit of 3D lately but still a bit clueless on implementing more complex mechanics).

I'm trying to keep to doing as much of the work muself as I can which is why I went for a simpler game, to allow me to do the artwork and most of the sound myself during the jam.

I'm glad you enjoyed looking at it.

Developer

Sure did!

Although it's my very first try at games as well, I've been around playing and programming for quite some time.

If I can offer you my 5 cents, start with a plain 2D, grasp the concepts, create, make mistakes, debug, laugh, cry, start all over again. The most important part of it all - of LIFE itself, to be fair - is to learn things while enjoying the ride. 3D is just an added extra dimension, same concepts and fancier assets; if you have a solid 2D grasp, it'll be a breeze to jump to it in the future.

As a personal side project I'm also studying pixel-art. Been a fan since the 80s and having a blast :)

Started following your profile, I'd like very much to see its development.

Have an awesome week!🍻
