A huge well done to you on your first published game🙂

Thank you for making this game and sharing the story that was passed on to your family! The art and game design are great, and the story is even more powerful as we've recently observed Memorial Day and D Day in the past couple weeks. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing.

It's a story that was different to the normal war stories I've heard and it's stuck with me. When I saw the theme, it just seemed to fit.

Very good game! That was fun to play and strategic. I didn't hear any sound, but I definitely look forward to playing more games from you.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Sound is off by default but can be switched on in main menu.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Dang, stories like that are intense, man. Your game is an effective tribute, I really like how you have allies by your side who fall before you do, leaving you as the last one while the farmer respectfully collects and buries the bodies.

Very nicely done.

Shoot shoot. These are our food.

Very poignant. Thanks for sharing this story while displaying your art.

I really liked the game feel and art!

I shot some bad guys here...

So this is your first gamejam? Nice job! I like the art for it.

Developer

Yep, first game jam, and first game uploaded.

Thanks for playing.

great art and music. the colors were very nicely implemented.

Developer

Thank you.

Congrats on your submission. The art is nice to look at, and the control scheme works well. I found it pretty hard to progress, as I would die almost immediately - maybe that is the point? For some reason, the sound and music didn't work for me. You did a good job on your game and should be proud of your work!

Developer

Thank you for playing.  It's my first jam and the first game I've published.

The sound is off be default, it can be turned on in the main menu.

It's not supposed to be easy, or hard, but you do need to watch the bullets.

Theme is represented really well. Also I admire how all the art is made by yourself, instead of using readymade assets. Sound and music is well fit. But aiming in this game is quite difficult and not comfortable

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback.

It's the first time I've made a game where you can shoot.  I tried to keep it simple so that you shoot which ever way the sprite is facing based on the "gun".  If the gun is facing left, the bullet spawns and moves from the left, if the gun is facing right, the bullet spawns and moves right.

If I update the game, I will try to look at improving this mechanic.

Very nice aesthetics, color palette and theme implementation. Surprisingly I haven't seen many historic or army related games so far.  Good job on the submission!

I really enjoyed playing your game and I thought you did very well with the theme. I really appreciate the narrative you provided explaining the real-world event you based your game on. One suggestion I would give is to maybe give the enemies an AI to more effectively target the player when you're the last one standing rather than randomly appearing and firing, potentially at nothing.

congrats on completeing your first game, really like the take on th etheme too!

Congratulations on completing your first game! A fresh and different take on the theme, and appropriately timed too. I love the sense of camaraderie from having the allies fighting alongside you, and the tactical shooting mechanics. Would love to see it taken further with more consistent graphics to match the tone of the story... :)

I saw your comments on several games so I was curious as to what you made. I really like this! It was fun to play, particularly the aspect of fighting with allies. Er, I'm not so sure about the font and colour of the title screen though.

Developer

Thank you for playing.

The menu system was mostly just a place holder, something that works, but I never got the chance to update it.  I ended up focussing on getting the gameplay to work as I implemented mechanics and processes that I had never tried before.

I enjoyed this as the story was a good theme and the simplicity made it fun

Well done

Thank you.

Just played your game, tried to think a pigeon and just gobbled up those snacks.

Played on a laptop so it lagged a bit, but it is certainly a fun premise.

Interesting setting, atmosphere and mechanics. I like the detail with the allies automatically helping you. It looks and feels pretty unique and engaging. I thought you did a nice job on it!

Just played your game, I enjoyed the way the story progressed based on the actions you chose in the game and that there was a way to cycle to a Game Over.
