Hi, just played your game.
I liked the art style and the level design. I found the parallax backgrounds a bit disorienting but the whole theme and art design was really nice. It's my first game jam as well and the first game I've actually published. The first game I made to completion was a christmas themed platformer for my niece and nephew, a platformer seems like a good practice game.
