Hello! Just letting you know the third jam has been announced and would love if you participated again since your entry was so amazing!

That was awesome!
I am a musician so I had a lot of fun with it!
My only suggestion if any would be to have the rhythms a little faster. That would make it easier for some people to recognize the patterns.
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for the feedback, that's a great suggestion!
Simplistic gameplay, but the background theme is pretty neat, the UI implementation is nearly perfect (just put the control type after the control name please) and quite advanced for a game jam (bonus, works with my Screen Reader of choice which is awesome!) and I love the difficulty options.
The audio could be a bit more interesting, but the retro thing isn't all bad either, and the difficulty slider could probably go higher. The addition of music (especially if it changes with what stage you're on) could add some atmosphere, but the cool effect on the computer voice, while basic, is pretty neat I think.
Over all a perfectly serviceable entry, with a technically impressive UI that you should be proud of!
Thanks for playing the game, and for your great and detailed feedback! These are all great suggestions, and I'll be sure to include them in future versions!
This is super-fun — it had me hooked instantly when I read the story and the puzzles were fun right away.
The only stumbling point was that I could not try the tones before having to crack the firewall, so the first clicks were random until I found what sound corresponded to which button. The rhythm was sometimes hard to get right, but I guess that’s the point (and I managed after a few tries).
A small tutorial where I click on each tone at least once could help here.
But overall really cool and it left me with a big smile. Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for playing, and thanks for the great feedback! I am planning to add a way to practice first before transmitting your answer, and also a metronome option to help with rhythm puzzles. I had to leave those features out to get the game done on time. :)
I really like the setting it was a well thought out story. I liked the menu's they are easy to navigate using the keyboard. I was not able to play the game though. I have zero ear training and I could not tell the difference between the tones. I asked a friend who is a musician to play on my behalf and here what they said:
- This game has a lot of potential as an educational resource for ear training and introducing the relationships between notes. They thought it was not necessarily a game to play for fun, but that it is a good educational tool.
- They disliked the note sounds were MIDI. They can recognize guitar and piano notes easily but MIDI sounds made the game experience harder. Most musicians are used to notes produced by instruments and have timbre. The use of MIDI sounds made the game not as useful as an educational experience. It would be nice if the player could chose an instrument to produce the notes.
Overall, good job with the game! It has a lot of potential and from the menu navigation to the gameplay and the game setting it seems to me a well rounded game for a jam.
Thank you, and please thank your friend on my behalf, for trying out the game and providing this great feedback! I have some ideas to make it fun even for people who have trouble hearing the tone differences. Having a variety of realistic instrument sounds to choose from is a great idea too, I will try to include that in a future version.
