Neat little game. I included it in my Games Plus Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out. :)
You know what? This is actually quite a short, sweet game. While I definitely think the game could be expanded upon, I had quite a lot of fun. I loved jumping bullets, but found it hard to shoot the enemies when they were shooting at me so much. I think if the enemies gave a bit more of an opening, it would be slightly easier.
I loved the art style, and I think you did a great job.
First Impressions: The art is quite cute, the only thing that didn't quite feel as great as the rest was jumping - the animation and the airtime. Music was cool, especially if you made it yourself!!
Constructive (honest) feedback: Bullets should probably move faster than you. The time slowdown would maybe feel better maybe if you slowed down your audio too - you could adjust the audioclips pitch in order to get a slow down / speed up effect. Very short game without much of a challenge, but it was cool and nice foundation you can maybe expand on!
Nice work for a GameJam! The controls were a bit much for me. I am finding as I make more games and game mechanics, that if you're gonna use several buttons, having them all on the same 'row' has been better IMHO.
Some neat idea, and a great way to start figuring out how to get into Unity!
Cool foundation to build on. I'd suggest destroying the bullets after a certain amount of time (I didn't even see an enemy in my first run as I was just shooting randomly), and making the jump a little more fluid. The use of slowdown/speedup was good though.
the bullets actually do get destroyed after time. I think it's a bit to long after though
Pretty solid! It was short but that doesn't matter, i really liked it. Some more enemies would be cool though! I really like the sprites and the way you put changing the time into the theme.
